Beyond Identity

Future Reality Concept

2017—02

Beyond Identity explores the future of styling and make-up in the context of a world populated with face recognition algorithms and social scoring.

In a near future when we are constantly going to be judged based on correlative research into social scoring some changes to your face will become inevitable. An advisory smart mirror serves as consultant and reviser to correct it in the morning.

Even though a premature habit, we live in a world where everyone is constantly judged by one’s outer appearance. Naturally, we put on make-up and other styling products and we dress ourselves in a particular, deliberate fashion to influence other people’s perception.
Nowadays, face recognition systems make use of deciphering individual traits by analyzing people’s faces assigning attributes like health, creditworthiness, sexual orientation and the like. The Beyond Identity system is integrated into your  bathroom’s mirror checking your days agenda when you wake up, then giving you suggestions of what you should look like today. It also provides you with the necessary tools to achieve the suggested transformation - either by applying sculpted add-ons to your face or by temporarily tattooing black and white patterns that change the perception of your face when being analyzed towards desired attributes.
Beyond Identity designs your body.

Bushman

Fashion

2017-02

Kinetic movements translated into moiré effects pair up with greenery irrigated by sweat. Bushman is a suit that filters your breathing air, providing you with a well scented environment in a dull office space. It conjures a smile on your colleagues’ faces and leaves your traces in the air and on the floor.

UNKU

Active Design, Fashion

2018—01

UNKU is a fashion production principle developed to break with our convention to consume passively when confronted with the interface of a webshop or a designed retail shop. The system challenges conventional production methods by providing the participant with a starter kit containing all the necessary preconditions ranging from sewing pattern making to bonding textiles. UNKU enables the participant to produce an individual garment based on a personal journey.

The starter kit does not waste any mail packaging material nor does it require a low paid sewer.

Nutrigeno

Future Patient Food Supply, System Concept

2017-01

What will the patient food supply be like in the hospital of the future? – Nutrigeno offers a possible scenario. The project sets the archaic theme of food into the context of modern high-tech medicine and discusses new possibilities of supply on the basis of current trends. Moreover Nutrigeno should stimulate a discussion about the topic.

The project originated out of the thought to improve a patient’s convalescence without further medication. In doing so the poles of atmosphere, food, and self-motivation were analysed. At the beginning a internship in the field of care, a visit to the Klinikum Braunschweig and literature research about the origin, opportunities and deficiencies of the hospital served as means to gain a deeper understanding of itself.
